Our season 2025 competitors

Lake Macquarie Marauders

A foundation team from the inaugural 2016 HGL season, the Marauders have had a turbulent existence. Having experienced as many winless seasons (2016, 2018, and 2019) as championship years (2017, 2021, and 2023), the Marauders will attempt to stabilize in 2025 after a disappointing loss to the Central Coast Sharks in the 2024 Hunter Bowl.

Port Stephens Bombers

Traditionally the most successful team in HGL history, the Bombers have nearly always been near the top of the league, having played in 4 out of 6 Hunter Bowls. After starting the season strong with back-to-back wins, the 2024 Bombers eventually fell one win short of another Hunter Bowl appearance.

Central Coast Sharks

The league’s latest addition, joining the competition in 2024, the Central Coast Sharks started things off with a bang—defeating the Marauders in the 2024 Hunter Bowl to be crowned champions in their first year. With aspirations of joining the Gridiron NSW competition, the Sharks will look to build on their early success in 2025.
